  2. Dogwood, Maple, and Walnut

I started building my 6-hole Appalachian Flutes in 2001. I always wanted to build a stringed instrument but felt I needed more experience before attempting a guitar. Following the advice of a local, world-reknowed , guitar builder/picker, I decided to try Mountain Dulcimers. The rest is history. Using mostly salvaged wood from the Appalachian foothills of Southwest Virginia, I started building various designs; Hourglass, Teardrop, Box, and Scheitholt/Hummel. With help from my wife, and dulcimer friends, I started making dulcimers. My attention to detail, fretboard scale and feel, and wood selection and design have made my dulcimers very popular. I thank everyone for their continued support. Special thanks to our son, David for his support. The following is a small selection of the various designs I have built. If interested in a instrument, message me with the Item number.
